About Richard Scott

Located in the Boston area, Richard Scott is a member of the Boston Opera Collaborative and a long-time member of and a frequent soloist with Chorus Boston, a mixed-voice group specializing in Japanese music and Western classical works. Over the past year he has appeared in several opera productions, most recently Handel's Alcina . In April he will sing the role of Bidebent in the Sextet from Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor at Boston Opera Collaborative's Gala, and in May he will sing solo parts in a choral arrangement of selections from Schumann's Dichterliebe with Chorus Boston.

Boston Opera Collaborative 2nd Annual Gala

April 17, 2009 at the Dante Alighieri Society's Italian Cultural Center in Cambridge – Richard will sing the role of Bidebent in the Sextet from Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor .

Chorus Boston Spring Concert

May 8, 2009 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brookline – Richard will sing solo parts in a choral arrangement of selections from Schumann's Dichterliebe with Chorus Boston, directed by Yohei Sato.

Recent Performances

 

Alcina

In February, Richard performed in the ensemble of Boston Opera Collaborative's production of Handel's Alcina, directed by Andrew Ryker, with musical direction by Paul Cienniwa.

Chorus Boston Winter Concert

In December of 2008, RIchard sang "Quia fecit mihi magna" with Chorus Boston in a performance of Bach's Magnificat, directed by Yohei Sato.

The Magic Flute

In July of 2008, Richard sang the part of Second Priest in Boston Opera Collaborative's production of Mozart's The Magic Flute , directed by Josiah George, with musical direction by Michael Sakir.

Chorus Boston Spring Concert

In May of 2008, Richard sang the baritione solos, as well as selected tenor and baritone choral sections, in Fauré's Requiem, and the bass part in a variety of traditional and modern Japanese choral works, directed by Yohei Sato.
